Aurora

Aurora Aksnes (born June 15 on the 15th of June, 1996 at Stavanger) is the name of a Norwegian artist and vocalist. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, was released in May of 2015 by Decca Records to great approval of bloggers in the music industry and media. She has recorded several high-profile songs as covers, like Half the World Away (by Oasis) for the Christmas advert. Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert as well as Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) and have been widely praised. Katy Perry shared a tweet that Perry promoted her song Runaway. It was her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories are of discovering a piano hidden in the attic of her home, and being captivated by its sounds. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. He urged her not to pursue music solely to have fun or to aid in growth but rather, she must take it seriously. They advised her to compose. Her influences include renowned authors Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan and her affinity with Bjork's style. Her mother was supportive of her performing her music publicly, not to achieve fame, but rather to help others realize how important they are and the good they do for humanity. At age 6, she began to play the piano and at nine was writing music. This was not known to her family members until she turned fourteen. Aurora did not have a set goal. The singer says that she simply likes to compose songs. For her, the music she writes is the way that she feels everything.
